EFFINGHAM COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
BURKE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
Winning the Region Championship and placing 11th overall at the Georgia High School Association AAA Championship in 2011, the Burke County Lady Bears Golf Team know that it takes knowledge and practice to become the best players they can.

Their Coach knows that it also takes funds to accomplish the Team’s goal of winning so he applied for and was awarded a $750.00 Grant from the Georgia Women’s Golf Association. Coach Wade Marchman plans to use the funds provided through the GWGA Grant program to have lessons given by golf Professionals, buy training aids and pay for entry fees into tournaments for the girls.
Presenting Coach Marchman with the GWGA Grant check is Past President and current Director Mary Helen McElreath at the Lady Bears home course Waynesboro Country Club. Team players in attendance for the presentation are: (L to R)Darian Johnson, Caity Mayton, Bailee Adkins, Maggie Rachels, Nicole Rachels, Rylie Marchman, and Tiffany Farmer.
Athletic Director Tim Hood (standing) and Coach Curtis Stevens were on hand along with Effingham High School's girls golf team to receive the check from GWGA Board Member Eleanor Graham.
